How to Grow and Care

Light:

Medium indirect light. Indirect sunlight simply means the sunlight is filtered in some way. Whether through a shear curtain or just being pulled further away from where direct sunlight can be found. Most homes are comprised primarily of indirect sunlight.

Watering: Before giving your plant a drink, it is best to check the moisture level in the soil first to ensure it isn’t moist right beneath the surface. Also, consider aerating the soil of your plant before the initial watering. We compact the soil to avoid shifting during transit, so aerating can help the soil breathe and allow moisture to be released.
Allow the top 2”-3” of the Pilea peperomioides' soil to dry between waterings. Typically, watering this plant once a week will suffice. Drooping leaves can be an indication that the plant is ready for water, but always test the soil to confirm your diagnosis.
Rotate your plant periodically to ensure even growth on all sides and dust the leaves often so the plant can photosynthesize efficiently. When dusting the leaves, also take the opportunity to inspect the undersides and keep an eye out for pests.

Soil: A peat based soil is best used that drains well. 2 parts peat and 1 part perlite is a good mix.

** Protect from heavy rains and standing water to prevent rot.
